Do not give up my dear, don’t give up. Don’t quit, for the Lord your God has not and will not leave nor forsake you. Joshua 1:9 reads; have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Most at times, when the going gets tough we are tempted to give up. We feel all is lost and the only thing left is nothing. At such a time, God is telling you not to quit. Like he told Joshua, take courage and keep moving. Sometimes it’s so hard to keep moving. But let us not forget that as part of the fruits of the spirit, we have long suffering. Will we enjoy the peace of the Lord and neglect long suffering? No, not at all. Galatians 5:22-23 but the fruits of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
All I am saying is wait on the Lord. Per experience, you are closest to God at a time when you feel all is lost. Know that there is nothing impossible for our God.When you feel your worst, please pray, sing and worship. It is easy to worship and praise God in good times but it takes a courageous heart to do same in worst situation.
I really do admire Job very much. When you read about Job, you learn so much about how God cherishes his children especially they that love him. In spite of all that happened to him, Job never cursed God. When you read verse 1:20, you learn that at his worst Job worshiped God. ‘Then Job arose and rent his mantle and shaved his head and fell down upon the ground and worshiped’ Job 1:20. May we learn from Job and stand firm in hard times.
Is it with marriage, children, employment, relationships or life in general? Be encouraged, stand firm. Let God know he still has a place in your life no matter what.
God has never disappointed and he will not start with you. He is always with his own. Just believe and allow him. Sit back in grace, relax and enjoy endless mercy. We are not giving up. Are we?
You are blessed!
