My name is Miriam Galley. I am a level 300 student at The University of Ghana, Legon studying Geography and Sociology. Due to financial difficulties, I had to work for a year as a sales girl in a shop at East Legon in order to save money for school. My Madam, the owner of the shop told me about LAASFUND and encouraged me to apply.
I applied and was accepted and by God’s grace, I got admitted into Legon in 2014. Laasfund has been taking care of my tuition fees and also paid for my residence fees this 2016 academic year. It has been a great joy meeting Laasfund and because of this, I now see the possibility of fulfilling my dream of becoming a Pilot. My family and I will always be grateful to Laasfund For Girls for this wonderful opportunity.
My name is Lawrencia Mensah. I am 23 years of age and a devoted christian at Apostolic Faith Church. I completed Accra Wesley Girls Senior High School and have desired all my life to be an Accountant.
Unfortunately I lost my dad and with help from no one I couldn’t further my education.I read about LAASFUND and decided to apply. I was called for an interview after submitting my application and got another message later i had been granted a scholarship.
I was overwhelmed that God had answered my prayers and given me the opportunity through LAASFUND to continue my education.
I am happy to be a beneficiary of LAASFUND.
I completed Ofori Panin Senior High School this year, 2016 with 6 A’s and 2 B’s. My family’s inability to pay for my fees as a result of financial difficulties made it impossible for me to further my education at the University.
I made this known to my pastor who asked me to go to church every morning and pray about attending the university. One day my pastor mentioned that he heard about Laasfund for Girls. He took me to thir office location in Dzorwulu. There I met with the project manager, filled an application form and submitted all the necessary paperwork. A few weeks later I was called for an interview and was finally granted a scholarship.
LAASFUND is indeed a great organization. They are helping me fulfill my purpose through education and my dream to become a Medical Doctor. During this gap year Laasfund found me an internship placement with an investment company so I could gain work experience prior to the next academic year.
Long live Ghana, Long live LAASFUND
